GWILYM HOOSON

Course co-director and coach

Born in London UK, Gwilym studied violin and piano at the Royal Academy of Music, studying with Molly Mack.

After leaving he became co-leader of the D'oyly Carte Opera company before going on to become principal 2nd violin for Royal Ballet Sinfonia, a post he holds today.

He has worked with many orchestras in the UK, including the RPO, LPO, Bournemouth SO and the Orchestra of the Royal Opera House.

Gwilym has extensive teaching experience, and has coached chamber music groups as well as orchestral groups.

He is Co-Artistic director of the London Children's String Orchestra, and sits on the executive council of the European String Teachers association.
